For many, the road to a good beer ends (and begins) at Hitchhiker Brewing Company. When you walk into the Mt. Lebanon taproom or Sharpsburg brewery, you will face a variety of options across numerous styles, but you’d be remiss to not sip on its flagship beer, Bane of Existence.
This contemporary India Pale Ale has become a household name for bars, restaurants and, yes, Bridge City Beverage. It’s full of citrus and stone fruit flavors alongside a swift melon aroma courtesy of Citra and Simcoe hops. Oats give this beer a pillowy soft mouthfeel and an opaque yellow-orange body with a dense white head. It has a 6.6% ABV.
Bane of Existence is available in a few different forms, including Double IPA, Small IPA and Double Dry-hopped versions. Bane of Existence is available year-round at both Hitchhiker locations and at Bridge City Beverage.
