8 Pittsburgh Breweries with Outdoor Seating

It's officially outdoor beer-drinking season. You know what that means; enjoy the nice Pittsburgh weather while it's here by sipping something cold outside at a handful of your favorite Pittsburgh breweries.

Here's a list of 8 breweries in Pittsburgh with outdoor seating.

East End Brewing

Enjoy fresh, local beers at East End Brewing this summer. Its original Larimer brewery and new Mt. Lebanon taprooms each offer outdoor seating.

Beers like Big Hop and Witte taste better outdoors. It's science. Not only that, the pizza is excellent, too! Grab yourself a slice or a whole pie and take a seat in the sun or under the shady awning.

Cinderlands Beer Company

The strip district gets lively at all hours during summer. It's here where you'll find Cinderlands Warehouse. The brewery opens its outdoor seating area with tons of space and tables to enjoy beers like Squish and select Tartshakes amidst the fresh air.

Order a bowl of French onion dip with a pile of malt-vinegar chips, or opt for a Mediterranean bowl topped with pearl couscous, hummus, red peppers, and more.

Sly Fox Brewing Company

Sly Fox has two locations in Pittsburgh: the Point and the Highline. Both offer outdoor seating, premium beer, and an exciting experience.

The taphouse at the Point overlooks Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh with an urban outdoor seating feel. The Highline location sits along the Monongahela River with an open outdoor area, perfect for large groups.

As for food, grab a barbecue chicken pizza or a smash burger with the classic lettuce, tomato, onion, and whatever else you fancy adding to it.

Hitchhiker Brewing Company

Studies show that Bane of Existence tastes even better in the summer.* Whether at Hitchhiker's Mt. Lebanon pub or the Sharpsburg brewery and taproom, grab your drink at the bar and step outside to a welcoming outdoor seating area.

The taproom and brewery offer select bites, including a charcuterie board with artisan meats and cheeses. Leona's Ice Cream Sandwiches are your best bet if you're desperately trying to shake the heat.

Grist House Craft Brewery

Grist House is known for its outdoor ambiance with plenty of seating, fire pits, and live music year-round. Oh yeah, and it's pet friendly! Summer is the perfect time to experience the brewery, inside or outside.

On tap, you'll find a variety of beers on deck, from its flagship Hazedelic Juice Grenade to Seltza Drip craft seltzer variants. The event calendar is full of food truck options like Bridge City Brinery's famous pickles and Haskel's Deli's schnitzel sandwich.

Old Thunder Brewing Company

Blawnox Borough is home to Old Thunder, located inside a 1930s post office. It's since been updated into the charming brewery that it is today. Outdoor seating lets guests enjoy beers like the flagship False Kingdom, an American-style IPA.

Food trucks come around daily with various options, from Blue Sparrow global street food to Tocayo Food Truck's delicious tacos.

Strange Roots Experimental Ales

Strange Roots has the summertime vibe down to a science. Experimental beers, from farmhouse ales to off-the-wall lagers, are best drunk outside the brewery underneath the neat, string-light-lined, and cozy awning.

There's a full kitchen inside, too, operated by the Pittsburgh Sandwich Society. The PGH Hot Chicken Sandwich made with Cadillac red hot sauce goes quite nicely with a Lager Roots Lime.

Mindful Brewing Company

Mindful Brewing Company's beer garden and outdoor patio in Castle Shannon are perfect for unwinding after a long summer day. The Straight Kolsch and Battleship Imperial IPA are two examples of the direction you can go in for drinking under the sun: cool and crisp or hoppy and bitter.

Complement your drinking with a Pittsburgh Steak Salad topped with (you guessed it) french fries, tomatoes, red onion, mozzarella, and more.

Bridge City Beverage’s Grist House Beers

Bridge City Beverage is full of Pittsburgh craft beer options. We supply local beer drinkers with a load of choices from breweries around the area, including, among many others, Grist House. From Fru
